Balance food, wages, and defenders

Smart Garrison weighs a town’s lasting food supply and finances when setting its garrison target. Temporary food imports do not raise the lasting target, and recruiting is not accelerated during food stress.

  • Default target: 150 base defenders plus a prosperity multiplier of 0.05.
  • Financial safeguards start at a 20,000-denar reserve and four weeks of wages.
  • Food safeguards start at +3 food per day, 40% stored food, and 14 days of supply.
  • The defender floor starts at 125. Daily emergency relief is capped at 50 and weekly transfers at 20.
  • At least 60% is retained when food is safe. Recruiting is boosted to 2.5× only while the food checks pass.

Campaign behavior and other garrison mods

Relief is limited: transfers to militia stay within their cap, and emergency releases affect non-hero troops only. Emergency releases do not occur during a siege.

The published release can be added to or removed from an existing campaign. Other recruiting or transfer mods may overlap; if another mod already accelerates recruitment, set Smart Garrison’s boost to 1.0×.
