Choose the file for your game
The current Nexus main file is Spouse Encounters 1.2.5 for Bannerlord 1.5.2 Beta. Nexus also provides separate 1.2.4 files for 1.4.8 stable and the previous 1.5.2 Beta release; read the file’s game-version description, since those two files share a mod version number.
Steam currently lists 1.2.4. Check the version and requirements on your chosen platform before installing.
The mod requires the official single-player modules and does not itself require Harmony. MCM is optional for in-game settings; Hot Butter scenes are optional. Use game-compatible optional dependencies from Nexus, Steam, or both, keeping one enabled copy of each.
Installation and updates
- Close Bannerlord and back up your save.
- Install the correct download through your mod manager, or place the complete WPS_SpouseEncounters folder inside Modules.
- Enable Spouse Encounters after the official modules and any optional dependencies.
- Keep the complete package even without MCM. Replace the previous package when updating and keep one enabled copy across Nexus and Steam.
Meet your spouse between journeys
Leave a town or village while an eligible spouse is in your party or the settlement. The illustrated encounter offers time together, a chance to try for a baby, or a refusal.
Both spouses must be living, free adults of opposite sexes. Pregnancy requires the birth and death cycle to be enabled and a mother aged 18–45 who is not already pregnant. A 100% encounter chance does not bypass these conditions.
Try for a baby has an 80% pregnancy chance. The private option without pregnancy does not change pregnancy status. Refusing starts with a −5 relationship effect, which can be disabled in the settings.
Encounter frequency and optional scenes
To restore the normal default frequency, turn on Use Native Incident Frequency, set both town and village chances to 20%, and turn both Always options off. A custom chance or an Always option activates custom frequency even if the native-frequency checkbox remains on.
Hot Butter scenes start off and can be enabled through the optional MCM settings. Scenes are skipped when HotScenes is active, while the encounter choices still resolve.
If an encounter or update is missing
Check the spouse’s location, freedom, age, pregnancy, and campaign birth settings, then review the town or village frequency controls.
If the launcher still shows 1.2.4 after installing Nexus 1.2.5, check for another old copy. For help, include whether the encounter followed a town or village visit and whether MCM, Hot Butter, or HotScenes is enabled.
